Flying Blind

This is the second X1 I bought from you; it's for my brother. Was impressed with the one I bought for myself - it's accessible to a person who's totally blind, both because the drone talks, and also because the app's accessible on the iPhone using VoiceOver. In fact, I flew a few preprogrammed flights and caught it with my right hand. Be nice if you could make a drone that can last longer and take off from a surface.

NOT A GOOD PURCHASE!!

The camera is WAY over priced. I've had mine a very short time. Its extremely sensitve to surroundings. The smallest amount of wind disrupts it. It has no back sensors. The sound pickup is choppy. Ive delt with customer service, they give diplomatic answers and have no real concerns about their customers complaints.
I would not buy from HoverAir again, when there are better options. Diji will be my next direction, after paying this piece of crap off, no returns for unsatisfied customers. They play the "policy only" BS games with you. Very unhappy customer here. Furious about spending this money. DO NOT BUY

pretty cool toy with some limitations

i got one of these a few months ago and it holds up pretty well. the automatic modes typically work really well. a kid managed to run along a hedge and then took a turn and the drone just crashed into the hedge - so don't fly when it's narrow. also the manual mode is not good at all. still i enjoy this little drone a lot and once set up it's a superb little standalone drone that is started in a heartbeat.
let's hope there are some firmware updates here so it will keep up with the newly released selfie drone from the big competitor.

Let's see if the warranty stands up?

I'm currently having an issue with my HoverairX1. It as acting funny one of the last times I used it, landing for no reason.. I used it in my house recently, and it launched at my face and hit the wall behind me. I stopped using it at this point and a week or two later I started a warranty claim. The process thus far hasn't been not bad. My last contact with customer service they offered to ship the Hover x1 to Hong Kong for repairs, but if it's deemed to be my fault I pay for repairs and shipping.. if they figure it's they're fault they pay, this is the gist of it anyways.
A little history, I've used it very little. I'm going to guess and say about an hour of total flight time over the course of 9 months or so. Has it bumped into the wall or a branch on occasion, yes but, nothing major(hardest hit is when it launched at me without warning). Most times it landed successfully and scorned me for not paying attention.

It recored the incident where it launched at my face and the technical hover folks said it was uneven, shiny, ground, ect ect.. it was in my house where I've flown with no issues before..
The gimble shows a defect as well now, this is recent and as far as I can tell is linked to when it launched at my face and hit the wall. Although, I cant tell it's broken.. it feels normal when I examined it, a slight sping to it but, it doesn't move on its own anymore.
In any case, I paid well more then $400 and I've flown it maybe an hour or so.

We will see what they do for me. If the outcome is positive I will ammend my star rating happily. But, if they think they're going to send me a bill for repairs and shipping while I'm still well within warranty they're going to have a fight on their hands.
